Rapper Kwaku Nsia Boama, also known as Flowking Stone, says he gave up his career to advance the music business in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.

The "Fire Bon Dem" hitmaker claimed in an interview with Andy Dosty on Adom TV's Showtime over the weekend that he is a pillar for the success of artists from Kumasi.

When his career was at its height, Flowking Stone claimed he had the chance to move to Accra but turned it down because "I wanted to prove them wrong."

He claimed that he did not want to follow the status quo, where many Kumasi rappers with modest fame flocked to Accra to "make it big."
